This research will adopt the method of qualitative research and in-depth interviews to facilitate sampling. In early 2021, we interviewed 10 student counselors who are currently employed in Macao, with different educational backgrounds, different years of experience and at different stages of education. Some have been employed for more than 12 years soon after joining the company; among them, there are 7 women and 3 men. The research will provide an in-depth understanding of the various work survival dilemmas faced by student counsellors and explore ways to sustainably survive in the school environment. The content of the interview will explore the personal experience of student counselors, including the difficulties encountered by the counseling agency being stationed on campus and serving as student counselors; how to interpret, treat and solve these difficulties; and how to understand the "gap" in the campus With his own unique way of survival, he becomes an "artist" who can fly to the campus.
This study found that student counsellors are under work pressure due to their work and survival difficulties, and even have strong thoughts of leaving. However, student counselors can use different internal and external resources to reduce exhaustion and negative thoughts caused by work difficulties. At the same time, maintain a positive and positive attitude in the face of difficulties. Even if there are many constraints, you can see the meaning and value of counselling services. Through research, student counsellors can seek appropriate support, and the social environment can understand student assistance. The real appearance of the instructors allows them to move forward and face the challenges of campus work.
At the same time, for those who are interested in serving as student counselors, agencies and supervisors assigned to counsellors, and schools, they are expected to improve the ability of student counselors to adapt to the campus working environment and reduce the time for student counselors to face difficulties in the school. Leave more effort and resources to service targets who have real needs.
