As an important part of the film industry, the Brazilian films are hardly referred by Chinese. Brazilian films are a collection of Brazilian culture and have a great influence and good reputation in Europe and America, however there are numerous problems when the Brazilian films enter the Chinese film market. From the perspective of "Country of Origin", this paper analyzes that how Chinese people's stereotypical impression of Brazil and Brazilian film impede the development of the Brazilian films in China. With the method of Cyber-ethnography, through field investigating with relevant network communities of Brazilian film in China, this paper digs out the problems when Chinese netizen watch or find film sources and tries to work out with the solution of promoting the Brazilian films during the community activities. Simultaneously, combine with the model of “Brazil and Brazilian films matching” based on the “Country of Origin matching” , this paper researches the Chinese audiences with the impression matching degree between the Brazil and Brazilian films by using the method of quantitative analysis to study if “Brazil” (as a national brand) is matches with “film” (as a product) in Chinese perspective , if Chinese audiences have the movie intention to Brazilian films and how the three parts influence each others. The paper will finger out the possibility of the development of Brazilian films in China and current problems.
With the discovery of the good matching between the Brazil and the film, the Brazilian films are suitable with the Chinese market and the Chinese audiences have a preferably movie intention to the Brazilian films. However, Brazilian films still have to face many problems in the development in Chinese market such as less advertising, so little sources, lack of subtitle translation groups. Chinese impressions to the Brazilian films are not decided, but this condition does not influence the intention to Brazilian films among Chinese. Though the Brazilian films’ development is a long journey, Brazilian films will have a great development in Chinese market ,which also a blue ocean market, as the development of times.
