Staycation is a very popular way to travel in recent years. This paper uses the theory of planned behavior (TPB) and the model of goal-directed behavior (MGB) to investigate the effect of information publicity on the behavioral intention of Macau people to go on staycation in the context of the epidemic. A total of 362 Macau respondents were selected to fill out the questionnaire, and the data were analyzed using SmartPLS. Findings suggest that information publicity has a significant impact on the behavioral intention of visitors to go on staycation, implying that people are more likely to want to do something when they hear information about it. Accordingly, recommendations are made for the future of the staycation industry and the recovery of tourism in Macau.
