The phenomenon of "aging" has become one of the important issues in society, and the university for the elderly has played an important role in actively coping with aging, tapping the potential of aging society, and stimulating the vitality of aging society. Since the University for the Elderly does not belong to academic education, and the development of the University for the Elderly in China is only forty years, the development is immature and needs to be improved, and there are many problems in teaching.
Weinan City is the second largest aging city in Shaanxi Province, and the author used Weinan University for the Elderly as a research sample to conduct qualitative research. Data collection through interview method and questionnaire method, and case study method to refine interview data, and qualitative research coding theory.
This study found that the teaching problems of Weinan University for the Elderly mainly exist in nine aspects: teaching principles are not scientific and targeted, curriculum settings are unreasonable, teaching content problems, teaching methods lack of targeting, teaching materials problems, teaching equipment problems, teachers lack of systematic training, and evaluation system is not perfect. Finally, based on the analysis of the research results, this study proposes corresponding countermeasures from three aspects: schools, teachers, and curriculum.
