With the arrival of the digital economy, the pace of digital transformation of the cultural industry and tourism continues to accelerate, the integration of science and technology and cultural tourism development has become a new industry trend, and the cultural tourism industry has welcomed new changes and development opportunities. China's cultural tourism industry has made significant progress and innovation in the application of AR technology, providing tourists with a more immersive, interactive and personalized tourism experience, and injecting new vitality and momentum into the transformation, upgrading and development of the cultural tourism industry.
In the cultural tourism scene, AR can display the introduction and reproduction of the visiting scene, so that visitors can see the real environment and the virtual imaging of the site at the same time, showing the details of the site that cannot be seen in real. Experiencing the AR map navigation, which allows ancient architectural complexes to be reproduced on the site, AR technology adds more possibilities for the digital conservation and dissemination of cultural heritage, brings a strong sense of presence and participation to the experience, and gives new vitality to the cultural heritage.
This study aims to explore the development trend of digitalization of historical sites, take Yuanmingyuan as a case study, and propose innovative digital experience and communication strategies to promote research and practice in related fields. (1) The current situation of site digitization at home and abroad and the application of digitization technology in site tourism are sorted out and analyzed, and the significance of site digitization development is elaborated.(2) The concepts of AR technology and digital communication are explained, the ways of digitization of historical sites and the research of digital technology in the field of site navigation are explored, and the necessity and feasibility of interactive experience of digitalization of sites are explored. (3) Through in-depth analysis and discussion of the current status of preservation, touring, and digital experience of the Yuanmingyuan site, we analyzed the overall experience satisfaction of tourists and the demand for digital content by using network text analysis and analysis of tourists' observation results, as well as questionnaires and interviews to investigate tourists' information. (4) The purpose of digital experience and communication, audience analysis, content innovation, tour experience optimization, user participation and feedback, and communication channel expansion were discussed. (5) We analyzed the selection and scope of AR tour sites, the current status of resource sorting and development, and conducted a usability test of AR tours.
Through the study, it is found that with the arrival of the digital economy, the digital development of historical sites has become an inevitable trend, and the application of AR technology in the site tour experience has significant advantages, providing visitors with immersive, interactive and personalized tourism experience, and injecting new vitality and momentum into the transformation and upgrading of the cultural and tourism industry and the development of the industry. Taking the Yuanmingyuan as an example, this study explores the digital experience and communication strategy in depth, which provides practice and reference for the development of digitalization of historical sites.
