This study delves into the increasingly valued role of recreation experience in cultivating and strengthening parent-child relationships and family cohesion. Against the backdrop of rapidly changing social structures and growing family diversity, understanding how recreation experience affects relationships among family members and enhances overall family happiness holds significant practical importance.
The research focuses on the interrelationships among recreation experience, parent-child relationships, and family cohesion. A research model is constructed based on customer experience theory and social interaction theory. Jinan City in Shandong Province is selected as the research destination, and parents of primary and secondary school students in Jinan City who have engaged in parent-child tourism within the past year are chosen as the research subjects. A quantitative research method is employed, and data is collected through online distribution of survey questionnaires. The collected valid data is analyzed, and the concepts are subjected to correlation analysis. Finally, these hypotheses were tested using structural equation software.
The results indicate that recreation experience can significantly enhance emotional communication, mutual trust, and friendship-type interactions between parents and children, thereby strengthening family cohesion. Additionally, emotional communication, mutual trust, and friendship-type interactions play a significant mediating role between recreation experience and family cohesion. The study provides theoretical support for government decisions in urban planning and public resource allocation,
offers new directions for market positioning and product design in the tourism industry, and delivers educational value for family education through parent-child tourism.
