The Macao development plan proposes that Macao should vigorously develop cultural industries, improve cultural innovation and communication capabilities, continue to promote the intersection and in-depth integration of cultural creativity, leisure and other industries, actively integrate and activate cultural tourism resources, and drive the improvement of community business, culture, and environment , enhance the driving force, vitality, innovation, competitiveness and sustainability of Macao’s development. In the process of urbanization development, urban vitality and social integration have had a certain impact, causing the development of traditional industries to face transformation and challenges. Cultural empowerment is also a way to promote industrial revitalization and integration, and promote economic transformation and social progress. .
Today, with the rapid development of modern transportation, Macau's human-powered tricycles have become a declining traditional industry. Fortunately, they have been transformed into a special tourist vehicle because of their unique historical and cultural value. Macao currently has no systematic investigation and research on the human-powered tricycle industry. It lacks overall industry development planning and integrated innovation. The current development situation of the human-powered tricycle industry is still difficult. During the investigation process of this study, some elements of the human tricycle investigation were not thoroughly studied because there were no documented records, no witnesses, and no oral transmission.
This study provides a reference for the development of Macau's human-powered tricycle industry through case analysis and analysis of domestic and foreign human-powered tricycles. Using research methods such as on-site inspections, in-depth interviews, literature research, and questionnaire surveys, we systematically understand the current development of the human-powered tricycle industry, and then use the IPA analysis method to obtain the key factors and improvement points for the development of the human-powered tricycle industry. Based on the BEAM theory, a strategy for the transformation and revitalization of Macau's human-powered tricycles is proposed from the aspects of cultural and tourism integration, design innovation, customized services, overall management, and digital display.
The research results of this study will help expand and enrich BEAM theoretical research, provide theoretical support for the cultural inheritance and protection of Macao's historic city, and provide new cases and practical experience in the field of theoretical application. The research results aim to enhance the attractiveness of Macau's human-powered tricycle tourism, promote the integrated development of industries, promote the development of new cultural tourism products, promote the transformation and revitalization of Macau's human-powered tricycle industry, and also provide reference for other industries with similar backgrounds and problems.
