As an important field in tourism research, film tourism has grown rapidly in recent years with the development of the film and television entertainment industry. Film and television works can significantly enhance the popularity of tourist destinations and profoundly impact the audience's travel decisions. Based on the stimulus-organism-response (SOR) theory, this study adopted a questionnaire survey method (a total of 637 valid questionnaires were collected) and combined with the PLS-SEM data analysis method to examine the effects of film content quality, favorability of actors, movie familiarity, and backdrops memory on tourists' travel intentions. The results reveal how these external environmental factors change tourists' travel intentions by stimulating their psychological states. The significance of this study is to deepen the understanding of film tourism, provide empirical data on how to use film and television content to promote the attractiveness of tourist destinations and provide specific practical guidance for tourism managers. Through a detailed analysis of film tourism factors, the study helps enhance the competitiveness of destinations and promote their economic development.
